Returns Policy

Overview

At Thrift Yours, we want you to be satisfied with your purchase. This Returns Policy is aligned with the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008 (CPA) and explains your rights and our obligations when returning items.


Cooling-Off Period (Online Orders)

In accordance with Section 44 of the CPA, customers have the right to cancel an online purchase within 7 days of receiving the item, without providing a reason.

To qualify:

  • The item must be returned in the same condition it was received;
  • The item must not have been worn, altered, washed, or damaged;
  • Original tags (if any) must still be attached.

Return shipping costs for cooling-off returns are the responsibility of the customer.


Defective or Incorrect Items

If you receive an item that is:

  • Defective,
  • Damaged,
  • Incorrect,
  • Or materially different from the product description,

please notify us within 7 days of delivery.

In line with the CPA, you may choose between:

  • A refund,
  • A replacement (subject to availability), or
  • A repair (where applicable).

We will cover return shipping costs for defective or incorrect items.


Second-Hand Goods Disclosure

All items sold on Thrift Yours are pre-owned or thrifted, unless explicitly stated otherwise. Minor signs of wear consistent with second-hand goods do not qualify as defects and are disclosed through product descriptions and images.


Non-Returnable Items

For hygiene and safety reasons, the following items are not eligible for return, unless defective:

  • Underwear and swimwear
  • Beauty, skincare, or personal care items
  • Earrings or other pierced jewellery

Condition of Returns

Returned items must:

  • Be in their original condition;
  • Not show signs of wear or damage;
  • Be securely packaged to prevent damage during transit.

We reserve the right to reject returns that do not meet these requirements.


Refund Processing

Once your return is received and inspected:

  • Approved refunds will be processed within 7–10 business days;
  • Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used at checkout.

Please note that bank processing times may vary.


How to Request a Return

To initiate a return, please contact us with:

  • Your order number;
  • The reason for the return;
  • Clear photos if the item is defective or incorrect.
